Retail World 2019 - Review

Award ceremony of the German Retail Prize

In addition to the German Trade Congress, Retail World 2019, the accompanying, industry-specific trade fair, which took place in Berlin's Maritim Hotel, once again attracted more than 1,500 corporate decision-makers and marketing managers from the retail sector. Around 60 selected partners and exhibitors offered a varied trade fair programme and a wealth of information on promising new products from the sector.

The focus was particularly on new technologies and artificial intelligence - topics that are now indispensable in any industry. Among other things, visitors keen to experiment were able to have their feet measured by means of a scanner and, individually adapted to them, were offered the perfect shoes directly on the corresponding smartphone application.

In addition to many interesting impressions at the fair, the German Trade Congress trumped on two days with exciting presentations from the trade sector. The highlight was the opening by the Federal Minister of Economics and Energy, Peter Altmaier, who also introduced the evening event with inspiring words. Moderated by newsreader Judith Rakers, the most successful companies and personalities were honoured in the evening with the German Retail Award 2019.

Among others, Lidl was awarded the German Retail Association's highest industry award, the German Retail Prize 2019, in the category "Large Enterprises". Particular emphasis was placed on the company's high future and innovation potential as well as its strong commitment to sustainability.

The ProCampaign® team, represented for the first time at Retail World, presented the Secure Customer Engagement Hub's functionalities at its exhibition stand, with which companies can bind their customers to their brand in the long term: the digital processing of customer loyalty programmes, the secure storage of personal data, the calculation of bonus points and status levels, the automated sending of e-mails, the connection of loyalty apps and much more.
